Reflecting on the journey so far

So here it is, my 21st published blog post. A coming of age?!
Prompted by Making It Mindful last week publishing the first blog piece I ever wrote, I realise that it’s time for me to look back at how far I’ve come. It’s felt like a battle with myself to overcome a huge fear I have talking about how I’ve felt in particular situations, and in starting to get into social media and connecting with other people. But looking back I’m starting to appreciate how far I’ve come. And as (you may have realised this through one of my other posts) I’m now consciously making the effort to praise myself and celebrate the progress I’ve made.
It all started with an invite to write a blog post on how mindfulness has helped me. If you’d like to read it you can do so here.
Looking back, what’s strikes me is that it wasn’t publication of my blog post that scared me the most, it was writing it in the first place.
And once I had written that first post and sent it to Chrissy, the inspirational person behind Making It Mindful, I was flooded with a sense of relief. I didn’t notice it at first, but…
…then I wrote the next one…
…and then I had a wobble…
…so I asked my close friend Margaret for feedback…
…her encouragement meant everything,
as with it I pressed the ‘publish’ button…
And in doing that, I started my very own website blog!
If you’d like to read (or re-read) the first blog I published you then click here. As I re-read it now, I realise that the same feelings are still there. I still have a sense of trepidation each time I publish a new post.
It’s my commitment to publishing a post weekly, believing that people will read it, reading and hearing comments and feedback, all of that has helped me keep going.
I couldn’t have done this without the support of so many people, so thank you.
And for encouragement, feedback and helping me commit to making this happen, a very special thank you from me to Lois, Chrissy, Margaret, Charlie, Paul, Rhonda, Carly, Philip, Paula, Kay, Sarah, Gavin.
Sign up and you'll receive an email each time I post on my blog.
I'll also let you know when I have other things you may be interested in, such as leadership resources, and when I have coaching offers that may interest you.
