Still procrastinating big style!

Arrrggghhhh!
I’m staring at a blank screen.
The clock is ticking.
I really need to get something down.
Now.
I’ve tried working on paper. Tried pulling together something visual to help me.
But not even halfway through I hit a brick wall.
I stopped focusing.
My mind drifting.
The clock is ticking.
Gone.
Another minute.
Disappeared.
------
I’m procrastinating again. I know it. I’m distracting myself with sorting out things that are on my mind. Which is great in one way. But not in another.
I have a deadline.
I go back to the graphic I created on procrastination not that long ago, which you can look at here.
I half sigh and half laugh.
So I’ve recognised what’s going on – check.
I know how I’ll feel – it’ll feel good.
The consequences are – I’ll let people down.
I’ve broken it down into bite-size pieces and already made a start.
I’ve committed as I've got a deadline.
Focus…
Hmm…
Okay so I have to cut out the possible distractions.
Notifications on my social media off.
Notifications on my email off.
No, not good enough. Just closed Outlook.
Shut down my calendar.
Phone on silent. Contemplate turning it off. I can't. Silent will do.
Put on some music. No lyrics, that'll draw my attention away.
Door closed.
Right here we go…
And when I’m finished I’m going to celebrate with a walk in the bright sunshine.
